今天, Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF) announced that longtime community partner Tee It Up Foundation reached an incredible milestone, raising $1 million for cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).

Founded in 2012 by Marianne Goldthorpe 和 Jayne Peterson, Tee It Up Foundation aims to raise money for cancer research at HCI. Tee It Up made a $13,000 donation to HCF in its first year. In 2021, its contribution was $91,000, bringing the all-time fundraising total to more than $1 million.

The Tee It Up board of directors consists of five "determined" women who pledge to do some good while doing something they love—golf. The Tee It Up Foundation motto is "Changing the outcome from hope to cure." The board of directors includes cofounders Goldthorpe 和 Peterson, Lidia Di Lello, Carol Igoe, 和 Lori Seppi. Each summer, Tee It Up hosts a two-day golf event for women at Jeremy Ranch that includes a nine-hole 和 18-hole golf tournament. In recent years, the event has included an evening gala 和 silent auction, 和 all proceeds benefit HCI.

"As a cancer survivor, I know the value of research," Goldthorpe says. "We are inspired 和 motivated by the progress we see happening at Huntsman. We are committed to funding cancer research for years to come."

Community partners like Tee It Up are a vital part of HCF’s purpose to fund the mission of HCI. When individuals 和 organizations in the community raise funds for cancer research at HCI, they give hope to individuals 和 families facing a cancer diagnosis.

"We are so grateful for our partnership with the Tee It Up Foundation 和 excited to celebrate this incredible milestone of $1 million raised," says Susan Sheehan, president 和 chief operating officer of HCF. "These five women are champions of cancer research. Their passion 和 dedication truly bring hope to all those impacted by cancer."
